Referrals & rebates

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist, however, if you wish to claim a Medicare rebate, you will need a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.

You may also be eligible for a rebate if you have private health insurance, depending on your health fund and level of cover.
